Aroma Magic Under Eye Gel Review

GUEST REVIEW BY SREEPARNA GANGULY

Being a girl with prescription glasses, dark circles have been a problem for me since childhood. In the recent years, I have developed a bad tan in my eye area due to over exposure to the harsh sun. To avoid the ‘panda eyes’ I often experiment with different eye care products. Today I will be reviewing the Under Eye Gel from Aroma Magic. Aroma Magic has two eye moisturizers; one is in cream form and the other is a gel. I bought the second one which is a pocket-friendly eye care essential that claims to be free from harmful preservatives, artificial colouring, and flavoring substances. Let’s see how it fared on me.

Claims & Ingredients:

Price: Rs.135 for 20gm

Shelf Life: 24 months from the date of packaging

How to Use: Splash cold water to your fatigued eyes and pat dry gently. Take out a little bit of gel on your ring finger and apply all over the eye area in dots. Blend the dots with the same finger in light outward circular motion. Let it get absorbed into the skin for 2 minutes before carrying on with the rest of the skincare or makeup routine.

MY TAKE ON THE PRODUCT

Packaging/Availability: The Aroma Magic under eye gel comes in a small white tube with a red plastic screw cap. The product name and the brand name can be found on the front label graphics whereas the specifications reside on the back side. The packaging is very simple, sturdy and spillage-proof. This eye care gel is available in most of the leading beauty stores and Aroma Magic salons. It is available in various e-commerce websites too.

Colour: The Aroma Magic under eye gel is colorless and transparent.

Texture: It is a water based gel which is quite thick in consistency.

Fragrance: The Aroma Magic under eye gel claims to be artificial fragrance-free. It has a faint rosy smell that is very short staying.

Suitability: The Aroma Magic under eye gel is said to be suitable for all skin types but in my opinion this would work best on oily to combination skin. The moisturization it provides would not be enough for dry to extremely dry skin.

Effectiveness: I generally apply it in the morning and at night after applying moisturizer because in this harsh winter my under eye area needs more moisturization than this gel can provide. For my oily eyelids, it requires a pea size product for both the eyes so my small tube is going to last long. Within 2 minutes of application, it gets absorbed without leaving any residue. It gives a nice cooling sensation to the eyes after application which, I think, is due to the evaporation of water content in it. It saturates the eye area with moisturization so the skin around the eye looks taut temporarily. I bought this one mainly to reduce my under eye darkness but it could do nothing to them.

RATING: 2.5/5

FINAL RECOMMENDATION:

I would recommend the Aroma Magic under eye gel to someone with oily to combination skin, who is in want of a chemical and artificial fragrance-free decent budget-friendly light water-based eye moisturizer to sooth a fatigued eye.

My dark circles are quite intense. I think that’s the reason it didn’t work. Happy to know it worked for you 🙂
