GUEST REVIEW BY SREEPARNA GANGULY

Hola People!

Winter is here but my skin is still giving me trouble by breaking out. That is why; I took out my favourite acne face wash, Garnier Pure Active High Foaming Face Wash recently. I emptied 80% of the bottle in summer and stored the rest away to use in the coming summer. I shifted to a nourishing face wash for the cold months that was working nicely but suddenly I had this major breakout phase due to bad health conditions. For some days I was using both the cleansers side by side but recently the nourishing one got finished so currently I am using this alone. This face wash is my old bestie.  Actually, I have always seen myself coming back to this face cleanser when I need serious solutions to my acnes. Let’s jump to the review to find why I like this face cleanser so much.

PRODUCT DETAILS:

Garnier Pure Active Neem + Tulsi High Foaming Face Wash is designed to fight oil and pimple germs. This face cleanser says to reduce 99.9%   pimple causing germs.

Why should you include this product in your skincare essentials?

  1. It has powerful natural ingredients like neem and tulsi to reduce oils and germs from your facial skin
  2. It gives glowing skin

Ingredients:

Price: Rs.105 for 100gm

Shelf Life: 36 months from the date of packaging

How to Use: Splash your face with water. Take a desirable amount of face wash and rub between your palms to create froth. Apply it to your face and neck and massage with fingertips. Avoid eye area or it may cause irritations. Emphasise the oily zones of your face where you get a maximum number of pimples. Finally, rinse off with water and pat dry.

MY TAKE ON THE PRODUCT

Packaging/Availability: The Garnier face wash comes in a plastic flip open bottle. The bottle is completely transparent and the cap is tangy green. The cap is very tight so there is no spillage. I am quite satisfied with the packaging because it is ergonomic, simple, sturdy and travel-friendly. This cleanser is widely available offline; even the small grocery stores keep this. The same happens with online stores too. So, availability would not be an issue with this one.

Colour: It has a transparent light green colour that looks more intense in the bottle.

Texture: The consistency of the Garnier face wash is thin and gel like. When rubbed with water, it produces medium thick lather. In spite of its shower gel like texture, removing it from the face is an easy business.

Fragrance: It has a mild citrusy fragrance that goes off as soon as I cleanse it off from my face.

Suitability: From my experience, I can say it will work on oily and acne prone skin best. People with combination skin would like it in hot and humid weather. Being a foaming face wash it may make dry skin more dry and flaky. As it is an antibacterial cleanser, the formula is quite strong. So, if you have sensitive skin you should do a patch test beforehand.

Effectiveness: The Garnier face wash works wonders on my skin even when my skin is in its worst phase. I have very oily skin and my skin is very prone to breakouts. When I suffer from major breakouts I take out this cleanser. In summer my face gets excessively oily. That is why; I wash my face with it 2-3 times a day. For the other times of the year once or twice a day is enough for my skin. Although it is a high foam producing cleanser, it does not dry out the skin completely. With its strong antibacterial formula, it cleanses off the excess sebum without ripping off my skin’s moisture balance. This product has been able to shrink the zits that are induced due to blocked pores. It lessens the bumpy acnes too but it does not help with cystic acnes. I do not blame it for that because cystic acnes are the mirrors of my internal health conditions.

RATING: 4.85/5 (-0.15 for presence of sulphate)

FINAL RECOMMENDATION: I would recommend the Granier face wash to people who are searching for a budget friendly acne cleanser for their oily to combination skin with acne problems.
