It is time to consider which bold beauty trends will emerge in this year. We place our bet on the following 5 beauty trends to be the next hottest thing for 2016.
1. Statement Lips
Lupita Nyong’o’s bold metallic blue lips on the Star Wars red carpet signaled that statement lips will be huge this season. From the bright orange lips to the bright reds and deep purples, to more undaunted pinks and metallic golds, blues and greens. If you have never rocked statement colors before, it can be a bit intimidating. Nobody finds their perfect color from the first attempt, so do not be afraid to experiment with colors. A few simple tips will help you get the look right. Lipstick color with blue undertones will make your teeth look whiter. Exfoliate your lips with baking soda before you apply the lipstick to make them super-smooth. Bold colors do not put up with irregular lip line. Lip liners are regaining their popularity, so take advantage of them to get the perfect lip line. Apply the lipstick with a lip brush for better precision. If you go for statement lips, make sure to tone down the rest of your makeup. For more formal occasions, opt for matte lipsticks, while you can pick something glossy for every day.
2. Golden Eyes
Shades of gold, yellow, copper and bronze eye shadows were all over the runways. Golden eyes are easily wearable. They will give you an edgy and rustic look. Their best match is flawless skin. The two together will make you look bright and youthful. Beware though, some golden hues do not work on certain skin tones and can create a corpse-like appearance. Makeup artists recommend to layer a lot of mascara after applying eye shadow, to give the definition to the eyes.
3. Say Yes to Bangs
It is time to make a cut! Bangs are a hardcore trend right now. Why? Because they are fun and spunky. Any if you know how to handle them, them are quite versatile, regardless of how they might seem. You can swing them from one side to the other, separate them in the middle, pin them up, or French braid them. From microbangs and frenetic strands, to heavy fringe, they are the coolest accessory of the moment. Alicia Vikander wears them, Bella Hadid rocks them, Selena Gomez has added them to her look, as did Caitlyn Jenner. They work perfectly well with all hair lengths – long, medium, and super short. All they require is a little change. And the best thing about them is that they will grow out quickly if you do not like them.
4. Stiletto Nails
Square and round is so dull. Nothing screams a stronger statement than dagger-like nails. Pointed stiletto nails seemed like a passing fad, but it looks like they are here to stay. Their length depends on personal preferences. But if you want a celebrity look of Rihanna, Fergie and Beyonce, you should go for a longer length. Pair them with some bold nail art and accessories.
5. Animal Ear Hats
Animal-inspired headgear is the best way to top off winter style this season. We are thinking woolen beanies with studded cat ears, bear-like duo pom-pom beanies, and owl caps. If you are a crafty fox, you can make the cutest hats yourself by getting colourful yarn online. All it requires are basic knitting or crocheting skills and some imagination and will.
