Today I am going to review the Nail Color Oak Room from Lakme 9 to 5 range. So far this range of Lakme has been the best range for working women as wearing dark colored nail shades and lip color can really be embarrassing for seminars conferences and board meetings. The 9 to 5 range has a combination of soft and muted shades, Pink, Brown, and Red. I am an ardent Lakme Fan have one of lip shades Oak Tree from the same range and also a few nail colors from a different range.
Description: Flaunt your nails with Lakmé’s Nine to Five Long wear Nail Enamel. Its long lasting shine, locks moisture & leaves you with breathtaking shine. With 16 beautifully perfect for office wear shades it will be difficult to choose only one.
Price: Rs 200 for 9ml
My take on the product.
This is the first product from the 9 to 5 range that I purchased. The nail colour comes in a wide and cute cylindrical shaped glass bottle. This range has over 16 different shades of pinks, browns and orange. The shade Oak Room is a chocolate brown colour with an undertone of orange. If you apply one coat you can easily see the undertone of orange. The shade is highly pigmented. On an average if you apply, two coats you will get the desired chocolate brown colour.
The nail shades dries quickly within a few seconds of application. The shade will look lovely on fair to medium toned beauties. This colour is a definite No for dusky and dark skinned beauties. The Nail shade has poor staying power, even after applying 2 coats it starts chipping within 3 days of application. I was also wondering as to why a dark shade like oak room is added to the office range. An office range is suppose to have lighter and muted shades, but this one is really dark in colour and is definitely not an office wear colour.
1. Pigmented shade
2. Easily available online and in Lakme salons and stores.
3. Dries easily after application
1. Too expensive
2. starts chipping within 3 days
3. too dark for office wear.
Overall Verdict: The shade is a really different and pigmented shade, but it is too expensive and starts chipping within 3 days. This shade is not for office wear I would like to try out other colours from this range.
