GUEST REVIEW BY SREEPARNA GANGULY
I am going to review the Vaseline Intensive Care Advanced Repair Body Lotion Vaseline. A year or two earlier when this product was first introduced in India; I was head over heels to try it. But I had a lot of body lotions back then so could not lay my hands on it. Finally, last winter I got the chance to try it as my stock got over (thankfully☺). After using it for the last part of winter last year I am still left with one-third of the bottle that I am using this winter. I will share my thought about this rich lotion today. So, without further ado let’s read on.
This body lotion is designed to provide deep moisture. The ‘micro-droplets of Vaseline jelly’ nourishes the skin from within.
Why should this be in your kitty?
- It restores moisture fast when the skin is rough
- It reliefs extremely dry skin
- It is ‘clinically proven to keep skin restored for three weeks’
- It is a fast absorbing non-sticky formula
Price: Rs.285 for 300ml
Shelf Life: 24 months from the date of packaging
How to Use: Take a generous amount of lotion into your palm. First, spread the product for ease of application. Massage it into your skin and reapply as required. For best result use it after a bath.
MY TAKE ON THE PRODUCT
Packaging/Availability: This Vaseline body lotion comes in a white plastic flip-top bottle packaging. The front side shows the name of the product and some claims whereas the backside mentions full ingredient list and the rest of the claims. All the body lotions from this brand have the same kind of packaging; just the colors and label graphics vary. So there is nothing new about the packaging. The novel thing that I noticed in it is moisture-meter. The front side of the pack depicts a 4 level moisture meter in which the moisturizing power of a product can be shown. This particular lotion is highly moisturizing so the marker is pointing at 4th level. I find the packaging is quite simple and travel-friendly. Availability is not an issue with this product. It can be easily found both online and offline.
Colour: The Vaseline body lotion is milky white in color.
Texture: It has thick and creamy texture. It is said to contain ‘micro-droplets of Vaseline jelly’ but they are not visible with bare eyes.
Fragrance: This particular version of body moisturizer by Vaseline is mildly perfumed. The fragrance is floral and very short staying.
Suitability: The Vaseline moisturizer is perfectly suitable for dry and extra dry skin in winter. It is a lightly fragrant lotion that would work best on sensitive and extremely dry skins as they are often irritated by heavy artificial flavoring substances. Oily skinned beauties should steer clear of this one.
Effectiveness: The Vaseline Body lotion is a very heavy for those extreme winter days. I generally use it after a bath when my skin is still damp. It takes 2-3 minutes to get absorbed into the skin without leaving any oily residue. The skin remains moisturized and supple after applying it to wet skin. This is the only drugstore body lotion that does not need reapplication at all for even my flaky dry skin. Although it is called ‘lotion’; it works like body butter. My skin feels smooth and soft after continuous usage. Consistency wise this lotion is very thick. I do not think it would be a good choice for oily skin. I once used it in summer and my skin felt very oily. Overall this is a good winter body care product for dry to extremely dry and sensitive skin.
I would recommend the Vaseline body lotion to dry to extremely dry skinned people who are searching for a budget-friendly winter body lotion to soothe and nourish their flaky skin.
